The Gospel of Mark is the second book of the New Testament and one of the four Gospels. It’s the shortest and most action-packed of the Gospels, focusing on what Jesus did rather than long teachings.

Structure and Highlights:

  1. Introduction & Ministry Begins (Ch. 1):

    • John the Baptist prepares the way.

    • Jesus is baptized, tempted, and begins preaching, healing, and casting out demons.

  2. Growing Popularity (Ch. 2–8):

    • Jesus performs miracles, teaches in parables, and calls disciples.

    • He faces increasing opposition from religious leaders.

    • Peter declares Jesus as the Messiah.

  3. Journey to Jerusalem (Ch. 8–10):

    • Jesus predicts his death and resurrection multiple times.

    • Teaches about true greatness, humility, and following him.

  4. Final Week in Jerusalem (Ch. 11–13):

    • Jesus enters Jerusalem triumphantly.

    • He confronts religious leaders, teaches in the temple, and foretells the end times.

  5. Passion, Death, and Resurrection (Ch. 14–16):

    • Jesus is betrayed, arrested, tried, crucified, and buried.
